Milestone 1: Let Agent run your computer for the first time

Before you do it.

Some say AI doesn’t need to learn. But someone’s always thinking, “I’m about to be abandoned by the AI age — watching others use AI skilledly, but not myself, panicking.”

This class is built for you by the confidence that “I will never fall again, no matter how fast I run.” After this lesson, AI will be included in your cognitive context: it will develop and not escape your understanding framework. You’ll tell who’s selling anxiety and who’s passing knowledge.

Remember the first step of this lesson:**Ask AI if you have any problems.**From this point on, you have an Agent who can ask questions at any time.

Task 1: Install and login

🎯 **Sign of success:**WorkBuddy is able to access the New Job page when it is open and no longer requires login. Estimated time: 10 minutes

Operational steps

  3. Found WorkBuddy in the “starter” and clicked on it. For the first time, if the system hints “applications from the Internet”, do “open”.

🔍 What just happened? You’re not installing another chat software. WorkBuddy belongs to “Agent” — it’s connected to a big model behind it, but it has a pair of hands more than chat software: it can operate your computer directly. This is the basis of all the next courses.

Carnation alert: WorkBuddy can be used without any particular network environment, and it has access to large domestic models that are sufficient to perform most of the day-to-day operations. The world’s most advanced Claude Code, Codex will be connected to milestone two.

⚠️ Common card point: MacOS hint “can’t be opened because the developer cannot be verified” OpenSystem Settings → Privacy and security, and the bottom point of the page “are still to be opened”.

Task 2: Create curriculum workspace

Operational steps

  1. Create a new folder on the desktop (right-click desktop) and rename it tozhanzhan-ai-course。

  2. Open WorkBuddy and select “New Job”.

  4. Enter and send in the dialogue box:

🔍 What just happened? “Workspace” is where you authorize Agent to operate. A clear range of activities for AI is the basic habit of using Agent — later you know, it’s called the “boundary of authority”.

This folder is the “classroom” of your entire class, and all the exercises that follow are in it. Don’t put any irrelevant documents in it.

From now on, folders and documents are jointly named in lowercase English, digital, short-line or underlined, without Chinese, spaces and brackets. The text can still be written in Chinese. This makes it difficult to encounter path recognition problems when switching between MacOS, Windows, command lines and programming tools.

Task 3: Let Agent create the first folder and two files

  1. Enter in WorkBuddy:

Task 4: Install Obsidian

Operational steps

  1. Opens the Obsidian official network above, downloads the MacOS version.
  2. Opens the installation package and drags Obsidian into the Application folder.
  3. Open Obsidian from the starter. Click Open for the first time if the system asks for permission.

🔍 What just happened? WorkBuddy is responsible for creating and modifying files, but different versions of WorkBuddy do not necessarily render Markdown. Obsidian is a notebook software specializing in managing and rendering local Markdown files, so this learning path is more stable.

Task 5: Open files with Obsidian to compare original and rendering effects

🔍 What just happened? The file is actually stored on a computer hard drive, WorkBuddy, text editor and Obsidian only read and modify the same file in different ways.**File does not belong to a software.**Even if you change Agent later, your file still belongs to you.

🔬 Deep down. Markdown is the most important document format of the AI age: The program files from around the world, the answers from AI, your subsequent notes system, are almost all of them. The great thing about it is that it separates content from style — you write content and structure, and the style goes to the rendering. That’s why AI is particularly good at reading and writing Markdown.

Task 6: Convert Markdown to PDF

  2. Click “More Options ” (three points) to export to PDF, save tolesson-01。

Mission 7: Let Agent be your teacher — four core concepts.

The bottom logic of model selection is the “capacity-cost-scenes” triangle: the strongest model is expensive and may require a special network; the home-grown model is cheap and adequate.
